My Life 1. Write a brief summary of your life's story and the process of how you decided to represent it artistically.
I have had a great life so far. I am very greatful that I have amazingly supportive parts and a loving family. I really haven't had to go through any really hard times. For the triangle boxes I got the idea from a picture box that my great grandma had that I loved to look at when I was a little kid. It had pictures of my mom and her sybolings and cousins as little kids. I used wood on the bottom because my brothers and I and my dad and grandpa love making things out of wood. On the inside of the top box you can't see it but I used an empty 20 guage shotgun shell to stablize the top box. This represents my love of hunting. 2. Describe any problems you encountered and how you solved them. Discuss any decisions you had to make.
It was really hard glueing the boxes together and making the boxes because they bowed because of the paint. I really didn't have that many problems it all went basically how I wanted. It was hard figuring out what pictures I wanted to use and how I was going to organize them on the boxes. It was also hard to figure out how to make the correct size top for each box. 3. Are you happy with the final product? Why or why not?
I think that my final project turned out pretty much how I was picturing it. I was going to have all the boxes move by themselves but I like it much better the way I have it, all moving as one. It was hard to hot glue the triangle peices together because they were slightly bent because of the paint and I don't like how they overlap a little bit. I also don't like that the glue dripped down the sides a little bit. I do really like the colors though. My favorite color is green, second favorite is orange and my grandma's favorite color is purple. 4. Reflect on your journey over the course of the past semester. How have you grown artistically/creatively?I really liked this class bacause I like all the options I have and that I got to make more projects. I have realized that I like to creative physical things but I get more flustrated with the process of it because It doesn't work like I imagine it would in my head. 5. Discuss the importance of creativity in education and the workplace. Creativity is so important in my opinion. I think people work better when they can be creative. I also think that people come up with better ideas when they can be creative. Tape Mural I really really really enjoyed doing the tape mural, I felt very independent doing it. I think that you should only have groups of two or three so everyone has something to do. I also think that you should try to find some masking taped that is colored, if they make such a think, because I think our fish tank would have looked better if there was color. I also think we should have more time to think of what we want to do and then a full week, like the week of the showcase. I really love mine and Emily's fish tank.
Pencil FlowerI think my Pencil Flower came out pretty okay. I don't think it is great but I don't think it is awful either. I like the stem and leaves the best out of the whole drawing. I dod like this assingment better then some of the others because I really enjoy drawing rather then painting. I think the petals would have looked better if I would have rounded the ends where the eraser is.
I made Lovelace the pinguine from Happyfeet. I thought my chess piece turned out ok. I was really sad when his flipper broke off, I tried so hard to make sure they didn't break off. I think I would have liked him better if I could have painted the back of him black. I am really upset that his eyes "ran." I think it looks really bad. I do like how his shape turned out though.
I think for next year it would be better if you had the class suggest different movies and get all the bad people and good people from the movie. So that everything looked like it had a purpose. Then you wouldn't have to color them all white and all black.
I can create use my art skills to create unique and innovative works of art and design unique products.
Card
I think this work of art turned out ok. When I thought about what I wanted it to looked like I imagined it looking really awesome and cool. It is basically what I imagined but when it was in my head it looked cooler. I think it is just really boring.
I did have some problems throughout this project, The biggest of my problems was that I wanted the K's, heart's and King's to be in color. I tried to print it in the library but that printer is broken. I got ink for my printer at home but then something went wrong and it wouldn't print at all. I finally had Mrs. Ruggles print it but then the K's font that I made it changed so it wasn't right. I had to just have her print out the fires without the letter printed on it and then trace the K on them.
I choose to do the Burger King guy as my King of Hearts because the King of hearts is a suicide king and Burger King isn't going to use the Burger King guy as their "Mascot" anymore. They aren't using him anymore because he is too creepy. I thought this was a good thing to do for the suicide king because Burger King is kind of "killing off" the Burger King guy.
